The copy is often right and the bag is not. Five measurements decide the case: base width, base depth, top opening width, handle drop, and strap drop.

Measure the bag on a flat surface, not on a shoulder. Width means the base, not the widest point of the body.

Pick first: Antigona Small
Givenchy lists the Antigona Small at 28 x 20 x 15 cm, or 11 x 7.9 x 5.9 in. The body tapers. The top opening is narrower than the base, so a bag that measures 28 cm at the base and 28 cm at the top has the wrong silhouette. Handle drop is about 9 cm. Strap drop is about 44 cm.
The two numbers that break replica listings are depth and height. The spec calls for 15 cm of base depth. Replicas that measure 13 cm or 14 cm in depth often add 1 cm to 2 cm of height to reach the listed 20 cm. The bag looks close on a shelf and sits wrong on a table.

The GV3 Small is listed at 21.5 x 15 x 8.5 cm. The 4G Small is listed at 21 x 14 x 7 cm. Depth on both stays under 9 cm, so a 1 cm error is a 12 percent error. Measure these two with a rigid ruler, not a soft tape. A soft tape follows the curve of the leather and adds 3 mm to 5 mm to every reading.
How to measure a Givenchy bag
- Set the bag on a table. Empty it. Close the zip.
- Measure base width at the front seam, edge to edge.
- Measure height at the center, from the base seam to the top edge.
- Measure depth at the base, front seam to back seam.
- Measure handle drop from the top edge to the inside of the handle arc.
- Measure strap drop the same way with the strap laid flat.
- Repeat each measurement twice. Write down both numbers.
What measurements do not cover
Givenchy does not publish hardware weight, leather thickness, stitch count, or the height of the lettering on the metal logo. Those figures are not available from the brand. A listing that quotes them is quoting a seller, not Givenchy. Weight is the largest gap in practice. An authentic Antigona Small with the strap attached weighs more than a replica built to the same listed dimensions in most side by side checks, but Givenchy publishes no weight spec, so there is no number to compare against.
