A Chanel round bag is the round vanity case or the round clutch with chain. A fake copy is a counterfeit. Chanel did not make it. Sellers use the words replica, mirror, 1:1, and AAA for the same product. The label changes. The bag does not.
Counterfeits are legal to own in the United States in most cases. They are illegal to sell and illegal to import for resale. That split matters when a seller claims the bag is legal.

- Serial. Bags made before 2021 carry a sticker with an 8-digit number inside. Bags made from 2021 carry a metal plate with a microchip. A new bag with a sticker is a mismatch. A sticker with the wrong font is a mismatch.
- Interior. Round vanity cases hold a mirror and a zip pull. The leather tag uses a thin, even font.
- Quilting. Round bags use concentric or diamond quilting. Count the rows. Rows that do not meet at the edge are a sign.

Counterfeit Chanel round bags appear on Instagram accounts, Telegram channels, and pop-up sites that rotate domains. Sellers ship from overseas. Tracking numbers often do not match the route. Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok ban counterfeit sales in their commerce policies. A listing survives a few weeks, then moves.
Legal position in the United States
18 U.S.C. § 2320 sets prison time up to 10 years for a first offense of trafficking in counterfeit goods. Chanel runs a channel for reporting counterfeits. Payment platforms let buyers dispute a charge when the item is not as described. The Fair Credit Billing Act gives a 60-day window from the statement date for a credit card chargeback. Keep the listing page, the photos, and the messages. Resale sites and auction houses reject counterfeit bags and will not authenticate them.
